So I recently had to reinstall my Minecraft thanks to a failed attempt at some mods. Totally my fault. Anyhow I did a complete wipe, deleted all folders and then installed, I then moved over my Vanilla unmodded save from my single player game. Now whenever I enter my single player game it seems to just hemorrhage memory, I currently have 3gigs allocated and it starts at about 20% used and just takes more and more, and while taking up more memory it is constantly showing block updates anywhere from 4 to 17. When I had 1gig allocated it would hit the 1gig max and lag, not freeze or crash just lag and sit at 1gig. I upped it to 3gig and just watched it suck it up. My Multi-player server run ON my computer doesn't do either of these things, I get on my Server and it sits happily at about 20% even when I run around and only block updates when I move far enough to be in an unloaded area.
Is there some Memory leak I missed, or something I can do to check for one, my single player server is my test server with all my creative mode builds on it I would prefer not to lose it. I have tried creating a new single player server, it appears to do the same thing, with an included SEVERE block lag which I don't get on my MP server. If this is a bug I will head to that section but I'm asking here first in case it's just something I missed or messed up.
Thanks for your help.
P.S. (forum mod, sorry for posting this originally in the wrong place, thank you for moving it.)

Anyone? Has anyone encountered this before? Is this just the way it works now and you need to feed it more and more ram?
