My system downloaded what I presume was an update to the Minecraft launcher (1.6.44) two or three days ago. All fine and dandy, however now when I go to play it creates this 'nativelog' word file on my desktop when the launcher starts (which is located to my desktop, however it is a shortcut in itself I believe. I removed shortcut arrows off y desktop). It won't then go away until I delete it (when Minecraft is closed), which it'll just be re-created next I play. It's not harmful, but I don't like random things on my desktop.
Does someone know what this is? I tried searching but found nothing recent nor relevant.

Try making your launcher on the desktop a shortcut to a location you can deal with nativelog being in. Just a debug file, it's fine, and if your launcher messes up you might need it.

Tired of the uninnovative gaming industry? Go Indie. Buy indie games like Azure Striker Gunvolt and Terraria. Minecraft counts too... sort of.
