Hello everyone,
I got minecraft a couple of days ago and these errors are driving me crazy. So here is what happens i launch minecraft using latest version, i get into a public server(listed below) and go to server navigator and pick a gamemode(such as factions) my screen goes to dirt background and i get a random error quiet often(around 8 out of 10):
Examples:
Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.codec.DecoderException: java.util.zip.DataFormatException: incorrect header check
Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.codec.DecoderException: Badly compressed packet - size of 55 is below server threshold of 256
Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.codec.DecoderException: Badly compressed packet - size of -numbers- is larger than protocol maximum of -numbers-
Things i tried:
Reinstalling minecraft(by deleting .minecraft folder)
Downloaded and installed latest java 64-bit
Googled it and only thing i could find is this https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-80342 yet it doesnt have any solution.
My Laptop Specs:
Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit
Intel i5 3210m-2.5 GHz
6 gb ram
AMD radeon HD7650m
Servers i am trying to play on:
play.pika-network.net
EU.MINEPLEX.COM
blocky.me
All of these errors mean the same thing: the data the code got, that came from the server over the network, into your computer memory, was not valid.
Either you aren't running a compatible version (this should be checked during connection), or data corruption is happening somewhere.
Are you suggesting me to use an older version? And how do we determine the data corruption?
UPDATE: i tried changing client version to 1.8( i was using 1.8.8) and allocated more ram. Tested couple of times and issue is still there.
