Hello. I have a decent gaming desktop but I still lag quite often while playing Minecraft. I have a I7 5820k OC 4.2Ghz, Asus 970 strix, 500gb 850 Evo ssd, 3tb Wd black hdd, 16gb ddr4 2133 mhz ram.
I am playing with a couple mods but it lags with out the mods too. I have the ship mod and better dungeons. When I lead in, it lags for a moment and then blocks start rendering. If you I wait a minute to let things render then move, I hit lag when it starts rendering more.
I am trying to make Youtube videos using shadowplay or Dxtory (neither recording to the drive i play on) but the lag I get makes it look bad. The lag does not happen always. It is more of a drop in frames for one second then it goes back up. It does it often when I am moving around.
I am running 64bit Java on a windows 10pc. I have 4 gb dedicated to minecraft. It only shows using at most 2400 total allocated. I am using forge 1.7.10. As I said, It does it with out mods as well.
I only run the recording software in the background which does not being the fps down more than 10. It does it even if nothing else is running. I also only get a max of 90fps and it jumps down a lot.
Hey there ragepage26, would you mind following some of the steps in this tutorial and reporting your findings? That would help us all suggest a course of action that will help you out!
