I have a heavily modified Infinity modpack running at the moment and I've run into serious trouble. When I first log in, the first key I press opens the inventory screen. All mappable keys do this, but not mouse buttons. The problem is very recent and might be associated with the new launcher (1.6.39) or some mod update. When I try to exit the inventory screen, the screen reopens immediately upon releasing keys. Basically I'm trapped in the inventory and can't play properly anymore. I have to be very fast with double-clicking escape to bring up the menu just to exit the game.
Googling for issues with inventory or stuck keys yielded nothing useful. Relogging, relaunching, even restarting Windows all fail. I thought the latest mod I added was the cause and disabled it... no luck. I'm going to try disabling mods in a test world but could use any help I can get.
Update: I tried the core Direwolf20 pack and it ran smoothly. Then I started updating some of the mods except a few I suspected. Part of the update involved updating Forge Multipart. The issue resurfaced, so now I know it's a mod update causing this. If anyone else manages to track down the guilty mod before I do please let me know right away.
For anyone else trying to track down this bug I have compiled the mods that Direwolf and I have in common. As I eliminate them from contention I will mark them with a *. Some of these have not updated since Dire's pack last updated. Those with a + have known hotkeys associated with them and are therefore more suspicious.
