4GB is a lot for minecraft. 500MB - 2GB should be good if you aren't going to play modded / high res texture packs. Anyway this probably isn't the answer to the thread.. just thought I'd point that out.
EDIT: I believe the problem is that it was written wrong, try copying the text from another default profile you haven't touched onto that one. Or make a new profile. (there are probably more efficient ways to do this).
I got 8gb RAM in my computer
I allocated 4GB for minecraft
it can't launch though
it just says:
Invalid maximum heap size: -Xmx4G / Xmx4096M
The specified size exceeds the maximum representable size.
Well, how many RAM should I allocate for the max?
System info:
-Intel Core i5-4460 @3.2GHz
-1TB Harddisk (this is the total amount of my 2 harddisk , 1 of them is a ssd and my minecraft is inside , same as java)
-Nvidia GeForce GT 720
-Windows 8.1 64-BIT (NOT 32-BIT) (Windows 10 64-bit soon)
WHO CAN HELP?

Curse PremiumIs your java 64-bit? Do you have multiple installs of Java on your computer?
Thank you
I just realized that my java rotation is in Program Files (x86)
That's why it can only handle for 1GB RAM
