I had the same problem that you do and I fixed it in a day. The way I did it is by forcing the java app to work with windows (7). First, you have to right click on your launcher and select "Open File Location", if your operating system does not allow for that, find the folder manually by going to wherever it is installed (Computer > C: > Program Files (x86) > Minecraft). Second, Enter the Minecraft folder, enter the runtime folder, enter the jre-x64 folder, enter the 1.8.0_25 folder. Third, Enter your bin folder and find the java Application and open its properties by right clicking and clicking "properties" at the bottom of the selection menu. Fourth, click the compatibility tab and under "Compatibility mode" and select "Run this program in compatibility mod for:". Fifth, Use the drop menu in compatibility mode and select Windows 7 (may not work for others so try to use your own operating system setting). Sixth, Click apply and then OK =D It should work now but if it doesn't then your problem is different from mine.
My Minecraft game loads fine until the main menu, it starts flashing "Not Responding" in the top left corner...

That's 100% normal. It's just loading. No problem here, just let it load and you'll be fine.
