Hi. This is my first post on the forums here, although it has been a huge help for me throughout the years without the need to post anything. But now I've encountered a problem that I can't find a fix for, nor can I find anyone with a similar issue (maybe my search terms are off though).
I'm running:
Minecraft 1.8
Forge11.14.3.1487
Optifine_1.8.0_HD_U_D5
ShadersMod-v2.4.12mc1.8
SEUS-v10.1-Standard (I enabled the Depth of Field in the config. Same issue with every shader tested, i.e. Chocapic13's, Sildur's Vibrant Shaders, with or without DoF, on all settings, i.e. Extreme, Ultra, Standard, Lite.)
Flan's Mod-1.8-5.0 (same issue with most of the content packs I've tried as explained below)
Simple Parts-Content Pack-1.8-5.0 (required by some of the content packs for Flan's mod)
Vintagecraft-1.8-0.7.68 (included because it overhauls the world in a major way as well as altering textures and has conflicted with several other mods I was trying out)
I have about 40 other mods installed, but I am almost certain they are not the issue and it is confined to these specific mods. If anyone needs my full mod list, I can post it in a future reply.
The problem I'm having is a weird lighting/shadow glitch while holding a gun from any of the content packs for Flan's mod that use 3d models. Shadows are removed while holding a gun with a 3d model, colors desaturate, and the sun shines through solid blocks.

The issue is persistent with or without a texture pack as long as shaders are active.

Turns out, the issue is persistent even without the shader. The shader just makes it 100 times more noticeable. My minimap is darkened significantly when holding a gun without a shader. The sky is slightly darkened. Also see that the weird gun shadow is actually the former 2d texture of the gun before the 3d model replaced it. So I am seeing the 2d gun model as well as the 3d model. This is true for all of the modern gun packs for 1.8. Any gun with a native 2d model and no 3d model shows up correctly and doesn't cause the glitch.
Content packs for Flan's mod are installed as instructed by Flan's website (putting them in the .minecraft/Flan folder). Starting to think I've messed up somewhere, but I don't see where. Followed all instructions. Double and triple checked. Maybe something with my video settings?
Also, does this problem happen without any mods installed except for flan's? If so, then you probably have an incompatibility error that is hard to fix without just removing the mod.
I'm positive it's an incompatibility. I don't think the devs would release the mod and the content packs as working for 1.8 when they really aren't. But then again, the content packs for Flan's mod have very little documentation for the most part. I got ahead of myself by not realizing it did it without the shaders on.
I've already put a lot of hours into getting the game setup how it is and really am hating the idea of having to go back and troubleshoot one mod at a time, but I REALLY want Flan's mod running. I will go back and try it on it's own today and post the results.

I've confirmed that the shader mod core (GLSL Shaders for 1.8) is the cause. Does anyone know a fix or can point me to another modern gun mod?
