Hi,

Whenever I try to open up minecraft 1.8.8 it freezes on the mojang logo for less than a minute then once the main menu has loaded and I click multiplayer it freezes again for another few minutes. Then when the server list has loaded and I attempt to add a server it can't connect to anything, I get the error:

Failed to connect to the server

java.lang.NullPointerException: group

I have the following Java installed

- Java 7 Update 71 (64-bit)

- Java 8 Update 45

OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601)

Laptop Model: HP ProBook 430 G1

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4200U CPU @ 1.60GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.3GHz

Memory: 4096MB RAM

DirectX Version: DirectX 11

My friends who also have this same laptop (from school) can operate Minecraft on it.
