I just bought a Mac (Macbook Pro with MacOS 10.10.4 and installed the most recent Java as of August 17). I also installed Minecraft on my computer yesterday, the most recent version. (1.8.8)
I am in a foreign country and I had my brother pass me my old Minecraft world save files from my desktop (PC) at home. He went into the save files folder and copied each individual world folder to Google drive, where I downloaded them as zip files. I unzipped each folder and placed the world folders into the "saves" folder on my Mac. Filepath: ( user / library / applicationsupport / minecraft / saves )
When I open Minecraft, the worlds appear available in the main menu. However, when I load one, it is as if I never built anything. I spawn with what I was carrying last but none of my buildings are there. I tried killing myself too, to see if I didn't just spawn far away from my world.
I modded one of the worlds to be entirely jungle biome. The others have multiple biomes. Neither loads properly, just to rule out this issue.
I'd love to know your ideas on how to retrieve my actual saved data. Do I need to import my entire PC's minecraft folder? Could it be a file nesting issue? Or something about the .jar? I don't really understand that last one.
Thanks for any and all help!!
Update: could this be a version issue?
