Whenever click play on the launcher Minecraft opens into fullscreen mode. After that, there are no close or minimize buttons at the top, I can't switch to other apps using command+tab, and I can't see the dock at the bottom to launch other apps. The only way close is by quitting Minecraft and then everything returns to normal….
I have a 13" mac book air and I'm using unmmodded minecraft 1.8.8
You should be able to change the fullscreen setting by using fn+F11 or going to the Options menu -> "Video Settings" and toggling the "Fullscreen" option.
If neither of those work, you can manually reset the option by opening the launcher, pressing "Edit Profile" -> "Open Game Dir" and deleting the "options.txt" file.
