Okay, so for those of you who know, NEI is an amazing mod, but for some reason, its decided to screw with me lately and has been pissing me off a lot. So, here's what happened: Me and a friend like playing my "Apocalyptic" modpack which is literally insane, and I rely a lot on NEI to help with the day time cycles and spawning in items when we lose them rather than spend 20 hours getting back what we had, however, its been giving me issues lately. You see, me and my friend use a program called Evolve HQ, which is basically a program which allows you to join people over LAN hosted servers all across the world rather than stick with dedicated servers. He and I have been using this for a long time, but just a couple days ago, I joined his LAN world to do an insane survival series with him as practice for videos, but NEI did the most inconvenient thing ever in that moment. It basically locked me in recipe mode and didn't give me any of the utility buttons. It did this and no matter HOW MUCH me and my friend tried, we just couldn't fix it. Its been bugging me because I can't do anything with the mod otherwise while he, as the host, as usual gets to do all of those things and has access to them. I came on here so people who know a bit more about how to handle the modding scene could help me and my friend solve this issue.
These are the methods I tried so far:
-Allowing and activating cheats in both the creation of the world, and in the open to LAN menu
-Edited the config to lock modes
-Firewall setting changing
-Hosting server myself (Friend can't join for some f'd up reason)
TL;DR Me and my friend are using a LAN program in a modpack but NotEnoughItems is screwing with me by locking me in recipe mode no matter how hard I try. Its also in a LAN world.
Try editing NEI's server config. to add yourself to the whitelist.
I only see NEI's client config..
Okay, so this apparently happens with EVERY single pack that has NEI in it. Somehow, someway, I am always locked in recipe mode while my friend hosts the lan world. I have no idea how we'll fix this since there isn't a server config. Okay, so we just found the server.cfg. It was in the world folder itself. Now we know what to do. And now when he goes to edit the server config, it says OP, and when he adds the comma then my name, it still doesn't work.

Yes, I did this exact thing. He had Global options on and I did too without the W options, and it still does it to me.
Well, if its a LAN server, there is no OP feature as far as I know. Do you know a way for him to do this?

So yeah, today I tried to have him go and add my name in the server.cfg, but it still won't let me do anything. I don't see what we're doing wrong....
