I am trying to install forge for 1.8.8 of Minecraft and each time I do this it gives me this error. Being that Minecraft ver. 1.8-1.8.8 is the same (meaning they are compatible) I figured why wouldn't it work with 1.8.8 (seriously why wouldn't it)?. Anyways, any help would be appreciated as to if I can install forge for 1.8.8 at all or if I can't.

I am a 1.8 Minecraft enthusiast. If i give any ideas to you for your mod that you like or even if I just came to say I like this mod, that basically means I would like this mod for 1.8.
I have ASD. I will most likely speak in a way that could offend people, that's the way I've always been (socially awkward), however, I do not mean to be offensive to anyone. Tactfulness has never been one of my strong suits. So, if your going to hate me...then don't bother talking to me as you will just waste my time and yours as well.
Despite what you're thinking the age in my profile is the actual true age. I find it amazing how many people think that ten is my actual age.
There is no official forge release for 1.8.8 and forge for 1.8 is not compatible with it. The crash is to be expected, unfortunately. Every time Mojang changes the minecraft code, forge needs to adjust how they interact with it. Just because the major version number is the same, doesn't mean mods are magically going to work. Even if all the code that forge uses was the same, (which is unlikely) it doesn't *look* the same since Mojang obfuscates the code to prevent piracy. At the very least there would need to be new mappings made to make the code readable to forge.

Glad I could clarify for you. On the bright side, the forge devs are hard at work making the necessary changes to make forge work for 1.8.8. I don't know when it will be ready and it's considered rude to ask, but I'm excited to begin modding on a newer version of minecraft.
