I have an Arch Linux Minecraft server that I've ran for a while, and my son also plays minecraft on the same machine. It's definitely possible Just make sure you have a desktop environment fired up with a functional java install.
I typically launch from a terminal session after I have X open, as I like to specifiy commands, similar to the example on the minecraft.net download page (I run the Minecraft.jar file)
Just got a brand new Arch Linux GNOME and it's really nice!
Wondering if Minecraft would run on it. I've seen videos of people playing Minecraft on Arch Linux like it's nothing.
So I was just making sure. Can it?
I have no idea about the specs, all I know that it's Arch Linux with 8+ GB of ram, with Java 6 (Will update to latest if it works)
