Hi everyone. I've been trying to get Minecraft to start for a couple days now, but when I press "Play" in the Launcher (V1.6.13) Minecraft opens for one second, then "crashes". Why can't I play Minecraft!?

when i had this problem, i just downloaded the minecraft.dmg again and ran it and it worked for me.

I may solve your problem later but, COME ON.

1. Upload your reports to past bin so that we can see the lines and read the error.

2. If you do paste it in Minecraft Forums, please put it in a spoiler.

3. WRONG SECTION. You should try to post this error in the section that deals with it so that the experienced can find it and helped easily and that discussion is actual discussion and not this.

Do you see any files listed under /Users/hhowell/Library/Application Support/minecraft/assets/virtual/legacy?

Search Terminal at Spotlight (or use Finder and Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal) and use the following command:

$mcd=\~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft && mv $mcd\/saves ~/temp/saves && rm -fr $mcd\/* && mv ~/temp/saves/ $mcd

Try Minecraft afterwards and give us a new log if the error persists.

There should be a "$" at the beginning of the command, however you can manually reinstall the game by opening Finder.

Select the Go menu and then Go to Folder... and paste in:

~/Library/Application Support/minecraft

Delete everything but the "saves" folder and try Minecraft afterwards.
