I think I know why. When you click play on the MC launcher, go for a walk or something. Then I think it will load. Note, don't touch the mouse after you click play.

Your computer is very old. Its possible the hardware doesn't support it. Make sure your ATI graphics card drivers are up to date. (note, ATI was bought and absorbed by AMD over 5 years ago - your laptop is at least 5 years old. Minimum.

They are updated, and I played the older versions just fine(1.5.2) so the laptop's hardware doesn't seem to be the issue.

So I just got a new laptop, I decided to run Minecraft on it but I can't get it to start.
It goes to the Mojang screen and then won't respond. There is no error log.
This is the game output:
[15:58:18] [Client thread/INFO]: LWJGL Version: 2.9.4
[15:58:20] [Client thread/INFO]: Reloading ResourceManager: Default
[15:58:29] [Sound Library Loader/INFO]: Starting up SoundSystem...
[15:58:29] [Thread-6/INFO]: Initializing LWJGL OpenAL

[15:58:32] [Sound Library Loader/INFO]: Sound engine started
[15:58:33] [Client thread/INFO]: Created: 512x512 textures-atlas
I have no mods/textures installed.
Is there any way to fix this?
Thanks

Ok, I'll try it.
It works for me.
Well it didn't work.
I'm gonna try an older version to see if its 1.8.8
I tried 1.7.10, loaded fine but game becomes unresponsive when I go in a world.
Any solutions?
Anyone?
