Running Minecraft 1.7.2 on an older laptop. Just installed it and had to use that version due to hardware issues with new version.

Then tried to install pixelmon via download of forge 1.7.2 and pixelmon 3.1.4.

But I ran into a secondary issue after installing Forge and Pixelmon for version 1.7.2. The Minecraft launcher in forge mode will just disappear without the game opening to the MOJANG screen. I forced the launch window to stay open so I can get an error report and got the following error message. I really hope someone can help. My son loves Pokemon and that's why we installed Minecraft so he can play with Pixelmon.

I would recommend using the pixelmon launcher.

Install legacy java fixer.

I installed pixelmon launcher, legacy java fixer, updated the driver on my graphics cards.

The Pixelmon Launcher was downloaded but is not running correctly. Created profile in the launcher and added pixelmon 1.7.2 - 3.1.4 universal and forge 1.7.10 - 10.13.2.1291 (actually wanted to add forge 1.7.2. but it showed incompatibility). It now references Minecraft 1.7.10 but is unable to go past the Mojang screen.

You expected a 1.7.2 mod to work on 1.7.10?

Sazrocks, that's exactly my thought but the Pixelmon launcher would not accept the 1.7.2 forge. When I tried to add the 1.7.2 forge, it gave me an error message re incompatibility. Any idea why that is and how I can make it accept the correct forge?
