Unfortunately your graphics hardware is not supported on Windows 10, you will need to downgrade to Windows 7, upgrade your graphics hardware(If Possible), or use another computer to play Minecraft.
first find the official latest driver for your video card.
(Looks like an Intel 4xxx chipset, you may have to look up your manifacturer's model info to find what card it actually is.)
After that is installed, install directX via the web installer.
That's it.
I have a new AMD R9 270x card and had to do that to play minecraft in windows 10. The same thing with a nVida 9600 carded system, so it looks to me the W10 default drivers are ONLY 2D drivers...
And it worked under Windows 7, right? So shouldn't the drivers work under 10, as no one really has "10" drivers out?
I know I chose windows7x64 drivers to install and it worked fine.
I understand that DirectX is not needed for minecraft, however, even after I upgraded my video drivers I got all sorts of craptastic crashes until I did the DirectX update... so I am assuming that Windows10 and the video drivers need one the bazillion dlls for something.... since it works now. ???

Um, no.
You need two things:
first find the official latest driver for your video card.

After that is installed, install directX via the web installer.

Retired StaffIt is not a HD 4000 Series chipset, it is an EOL(End of Life) Mobile 4 Series. You also do not need DirectX for Minecraft.
