Hi people, the past month I had to format my old laptop but I forgot make a backup from my minecraft map that I spend a lot of hours so I downloaded a few programs to recover all my files from the map, so I used "RecoverMyFiles"... The program gives me (after hours of searching) a few folders with the name of some of my maps like my 'Survival 1.6' so I recovered that entire folder without any trouble. When I decided to play the map I can't do it because Minecraft "not found" my map. I have the entire folder like the data, DIM1, DIM-1, playes, region, level, level.dat_mcr, level & session.lock.
I don't know why Minecraft can't open it, I tried with the 1.6.4, 1.7.2, 1.8.8 but I can't open it because Minecraft didn't "found"... I think it's something in the level DAT OLD, I open other level dat old and it's different from I have. I tried to open another level DAT OLD from another recovered maps but the file is also the same that when I create a new world, so I don't know what it is. Please help if anyone can know whats happening...

Every level.dat should be different from every other one, since they contain the data that controls the generation of the chunks in your world.
If it is corrupted then that world will not show up. level.dat_old doesn't get read by MC, it's a backup of level.dat
