I had a very similar problem with my Minecraft not working with java 64 bit, did you recently upgrade to windows 10? That is known to have issues with Java 64 bit in some scenarios. Basically what you can do is download the new installer for Minecraft and not have Java installed at all, it no longer requires you have it installed system wide. I'm pretty sure its integrated with 64 bit based, I could be wrong. Then again Minecraft only needs a max of 1 GB of memory so needing more memory isn't really an issue.
This is UNMODIFIED support, if you're using mods then you've posted to the wrong place. I'd try uninstalling java, restarting computer, and then reinstalling java though.
i do have a 64 bit os and im trying to run it on a 64 bit java but it wont launch.
it does work with 32 bit java but i need more memory.
i have tried reinstalling everything, using java 7 and 8.
