If you are getting this error, check your device manager and look for your display board. What I found was that my GTX960 was not being recognized after a clean Win10 install.
My motherboard is an MSI gaming board.
I tried to update the driver to the nvidea driver but that failed due to the fact the installer couldn't find compatible hardware. (that's what clued me into the issue with the display board.
Over night Win10 downloaded the correct chipset drivers for the motherboard. Computer rebooted. Display adapter is being recognized just fine. And Minecraft is working fine.
IT DID NOT TAKE AN UPDATE TO THE GRAPHICS DRIVER. I still recommend you update, but it was motherboard chipset drivers that needed the help.
If you don't get the update to the chipset drivers reasonably soon after the install, (and your comfortable with doing so) I'd suggest going to the motherboard manufacturer and update bios/drivers, etc.
OH and this also made the Win10 MC Beta work much better as well.
