before i would run with 250 fps because i changed it where minecraft would run on my graphics card instead of intel so i tried to change it (on windows 10) not sure if it worked cuz it still says intel but below it says my graphics card (nvdia geforce gtx 860m) and now my fps high is 45 and low is 15. This is crazy i cant play normally without lag and minecraft seemed to only work with 1.8.8 cuz 1.8.7 commands wouldnt work.. Help? also not sure if its the servers problem but my chat is spamming with connot locate sign x,y,z

I had the same problem, make sure you have the latest driver from Nvidia! Hope this helps man .
I found that the 64-bit version of Java appeared to be the big issue on my machine. Changing to the 32-bit version mostly fixed the fps problem that I was having. Adding the additional parameter -Xms1G (where 1G is the allocated memory size) allowed me to bring back the fps to where Minecraft is playable.
The -Xmx parameter was granting the 1G of memory on my machine, but it wasn't fully allocated. -Xms took care of that.
i have a 64 bit laptop, java will still work if i get 32?
I don't completely understand, just make sure that you are using the 64bit server. It shouldn't matter anyway come to think of it, since Minecraft no longer requires a standalone java download. Also, make sure Advanced OpenGL is set to "On" in the settings. (If you're using Optifine then set it to fast)

If you haven't seen this yet, this fix worked for me and ProFriesCraft.

Yes, I actually have both installed on my machine. java.com actually recommends it if you use 32-bit and 64-bit browsers.
ok thanks everyone for the help, i changed to 1.7 and my fps went back to 200, i did all the things you all advised and they helped as well.
