what im trying to do is sync a save file between two computers to allow my brother and i to play on it either in LAN or by our selves. the problem is that when who ever did not create the world gets on they play in the place of the one who did. does anyone have any idea how to fix this. it is modded with forge and liteloader.

is there no other way to do this we live in the same house our computers are less than 10 feet from each other. paying for a server seems a little extreme. ive tried to host one myself but neither of our computers can handle playing and hosting at the same time, even a vanilla server.

The only other way to do this, is to host a LAN server, which requires you to both be playing at the same time. Also, are you sure, your computer can't handle playing and hosting at the same time? My old slow computer could handle hosting a server with ~100 mods, with both me and several other people playing on it. Sure, my fps wasn't the best, but it worked.
it can handle it but the problem is it will time both of us out after a awhile and i can't keep it idle for more than two hours or when we get on it is extremely laggy. the console will say "can't keep up skipping (x number of) ticks". sometimes it will just happen once but eventually it will happen 7 or 8 times and time us out.

i really feel like there should be a way to to do this. the only thing i can think of is that the user files are saying that one person is a multiplayer player and the other is a single player. would there be a forge/lightloder mod or addition/edit to the jar file that can fix this?
