This is the error that pops up in the game output

[16:22:38] [Client thread/INFO]: Connecting to EpicCloudMc.Com, 25565
[16:22:38] [Server Connector #1/ERROR]: Couldn't connect to server
java.lang.NullPointerException: group
at io.netty.bootstrap.AbstractBootstrap.group(AbstractBootstrap.java:80) ~[netty-all-4.0.23.Final.jar:4.0.23.Final]
at ek.a(SourceFile:264) ~[1.8.4.jar:?]
at awz$1.run(SourceFile:59) [1.8.4.jar:?]

and the actual game says

Failed to connect to server

java.lang.NullPointerException: group

I have tried everything I could think of, from restarting my pc, reinstalling mincraft, re installing with the latest java along with getting rid of all other versions, even diabling my virus protection for a short time. NOTHING IS WORKING!!!

Have you tried more than one server?

It could be a problem with just that server...

yes, its doing the same thing for all of my servers on my list
