Before I start, this is not about the whole Minecraft Sessions DDOS..
Ok, so I am currently using Minecraft version 1.8.7. I have been using this version since it came out so I have been using it for a good amount of time. I didn't have issues with it. Its now 2 days after the DDOS issue was resolved, so this lag is not because of the DDOS. Anyways, the lag I am getting is occurring every 10-20 seconds and lasting 15ish seconds. I am walking and then I like freeze... All other players and entities around me stop. When I type in chat, the sentence I wrote is not appearing in chat until the freeze has stopped. Something I built during the lag, disappears. And although I can walk when everything else is frozen around me, I get teleported right back to my spot I was at right when the lag happened. Like I said, this lag lasts 15 seconds every 15ish seconds... It literally came to the point that I uninstalled minecraft AND java then reinstalled them again... PLEASE HELP! Everything I looked up online is like 1.5.1 and 1.2.5 or just when 1.8 came out in general...
Something else to take in mind, earlier I went on teamspeak... And I went into the general teamspeak room already made when you first download it. If you guys know what im talking about, youll understand there are people joining and leaving and .5 seconds. So itll always say "User joined your channel" or "User disconnected from your channel." Then nothing would happen randomly. And then I turned on Minecraft, and they BOTH FREEZED AND RESTARTED AT THE EXACT SAME TIME! Im really confused tbh...
Another thing, very rarely but im doing it more frequently than I did without the lag is that im getting Timed Out.. So yah... And when you answer this, please try not to make it really technical :3 Im only a 14 year old gamer girl xD
Other things, I have a 64 bit Windows 7 computer. And I am not using any mods, not even Optifine. And this happened randomly, not from some weird download or anything.
Were you playing on a server when it was lagging? It sounds like its either server lag, or your internet connection is so slow, it can't handle the amount of packets being transferred by the server and lags, as the your movement information reaches the server too late.
i have that prob too and cant fix it tho.......... but mine is slightly better. Its when my brother joins teh same server as me then i lag. After that one of us gets kicked
well I have been using minecraft on this computer forever... And even the same version for a while. My computer is capable of running minecraft amazingly. But the thing is, minecraft AND teamspeak freeze at the same time... Idk if its my internet, but why would it randomly start doing this when nothing changed from last time I used them?
I totally would restart my computer.. But the computer that is having this issues is a family computer, unlike my laptop. My stepdad has important job applications and everything, and I do not know if updating my drivers would delete those. Like I said, I is noob xD
There are things you can do in MC configuration that can cause this kind of behavior. Did you change *anything* between when this didn't happen and now? graphics settings (render distance, vsync, vbos, etc) , java settings (e.g. memory)
the render distance prolly, but I change it all the time.. And I probably made it go down instead of up. And I checked, now the single player is working correctly. Randomly tbh though. But my multiplayer still is freezing
My issue is similar and started with this version (1.8.7). Once in game it will pause/skip every few seconds...very annoying. Turning video settings down does not resolve the skipping. The only thing I've done within the last 2-3 weeks was update the video card drivers to 15.5 beta. I had been running the CCC 14.12 drivers without issue.
I've updated my graphics drivers to the new AMD 15.7 (clean install). The skipping issue still remains. What I have found is that if I turn the 'Render distance' down from 16 to 14 the skipping stops. Moving it back to either 15 or 16 and it starts again. I have the frame rate set at 60 and v sync is on.

Java version is 8 update 51 build 1.8.0_51-b16
It was probably from Minecraft running out or RAM, try increasing the allocated Memory (RAM) to 1.5GB and see what happens.

actually, It is happening on Single Player world too.
Update your drivers and/or use Optifine.
If you haven't already, restart your PC or get a new one. I once had a Windows XP desktop that took hours to load Firefox.

Can we have computer specs, to see if your computer is cabable if running minecraft well?

Is your brother using the same internet as you are when you guys are playing minecraft together?

Driver updates do not cause software to be uninstalled. The only thing it uninstalls is old or extra driver files.
However, it may SLIGHTLY affect how the software works.
