I've been playing in 1.8.4, and today when I tried to connect to the Realm I play on, it told me my client was outdated and would need to be updated. It wouldn't let me access the Realms tab until I put my client into 1.8.7. Did something change? I don't care to play 1.8.7, as I'm one of those for whom lag increases with that version.

It did the same to me. I don't know why, but I can help you with the lag. You can download optifine here. It will make a new tab in your launcher, and you can play with less lag. I guess it could be considered a mod, but you can still play on servers and Realms that aren't modded, and it works fine.

Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured.
It did the same to me. I don't know why, but I can help you with the lag. You can download optifine here. It will make a new tab in your launcher, and you can play with less lag. I guess it could be considered a mod, but you can still play on servers and Realms that aren't modded, and it works fine.

It's not lag like that. The game itself runs fine, it just takes forever to enter and exit.

Oh. That is kinda what I have. i haven't really found anything to fix that.
