I've never had this problem before I installed several critical Windows security updated on 07/15/2015 and now the I can't even get the minecraft launcher to come up.
I've deleted, reinstalled, tried a system restore but my computer wont let me. I am running as administrator and have tried right clicking and running minecraft.exe as administrator but no luck.
What happens is i click on the icon, the security pop up asks if i want to run the .exe file and I click yes, the cursor spins for a second and then nothing. nothing loads and i have no error message to show for it.
I really could use some insight if anyone has had a similar problem.
First, go to Programs and Features in Control Panel. Uninstall everything that says Java in the name. Then, go to http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp to re-install Java.

You need to reinstall Java.
First, go to Programs and Features in Control Panel. Uninstall everything that says Java in the name. Then, go to http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp to re-install Java.
Alternatively, use the Minecraft installer which installs its own version of Java: https://launcher.mojang.com/download/MinecraftInstaller.msi
