I played on realms Wednesday night...stopped playing and was going to turn off laptop...had updates so I updated and restarted..then shut down for the night. Went to play on realm last night and got error msg.. error (401) invalid session..i cant play on multiplayer either but have no problems getting on forums..so internet is connected..what is the issue here..how do I resolve this?

You dont need internet to play minecraft. You probably messed up your files by doing the updates. If you have an update by an unknown publisher dont update because it could cause some big problems. Try going into your files and maybe if there is a disable updates function click that and you shoud be able to lay multiplayer!
thanks for replying..i took my laptop to bestbuy and hooked up to their internet and minecraft worked just fine...ended up being internet connection..had to restart my internet modem..works at home now..thanks to all

Your error message from what I can gather is an invalid session error, so all you should need to do is restart your Minecraft client.

Curse PremiumJust close the game, that will restart it, then I would reboot the PC. Then it should be fine,if not, then uninstall the game,and re-downlaod
