I have an older machine, which was running Windows 7 for a few years. I got my hands on an 8.1 license and upgraded today, and now I am having trouble with my Minecraft launcher. I have tried troubleshooting. (For example, installing and using the Intel driver update utility) According to that utility there are no more recent drivers.
As suggested in the tech support menus, I am including the output of my DirectX diagnostic report. I hope that someone can help me out. My daughter has been clamoring during the 2 hour Windows install to get online, and she is not very understanding of things like technical glitches. Thanks so much in advance. Cheers!
Please note that your graphics card (the integrated G33 series) is a discontinued product, and the most recent drivers are for Windows 7. You can attempt to install the driver for Windows 7 here, as what you have currently are generic Microsoft drivers that Windows falls back to when they cannot find a compatible driver, https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/18223/Intel-Graphics-Media-Accelerator-Driver-for-Windows-7-exe-
Do note that the installer may fail with an error along the lines of the fact that the installation is not compatible with your hardware, this is normal as some chipsets do not allow for legacy driver installs. If you do encounter the error I mentioned, please grab the zip version of the drivers below and install it manually via the Device Manager,

I will provide further instructions if you are in fact needing to do so later on.
You sir, are a Godsend. A true giant among men... or otters as you prefer. I salute you!
All better. Much, Much obliged,
