First, a disclaimer. I am well aware that the original creator of the Technic Pack was fond of taking the work of hard working modders without their permission or blessing, which I cannot condone. Nevertheless, I have extreme nostalgia of my college days playing the Technic Pack 4.4.0 on Minecraft Beta 1.8.1.
The "new" minecraft launcher, with its "versions" folder, seems to mess up the basic launcher for the Technic Pack 4.4.0. It can't find the Minecraft.jar it needs to do the installation for me, and when I finagle the .jar into a place it can find and change the name to an appropriate one, the launcher still fails to run by complaining of a lack of a mods folder. I have created mods folders everywhere, but nothing seems to be flagging it.
I'm trying to install the mods by hand, going with the strictly required mods and nothing more, but I am still having issues. I am running it in the correct profile at 1.8.1 modded, with the meta-inf deleted and so on. It is certainly possible I am just placing stuff in the wrong place, as I am really just kinda trying whatever I think might make a bit of sense. Any feedback or ideas would be appreciated, or even just an explanation of what this error means would be awesome.
