-First of all, I'm sorry if I'm posting in the wrong forum. Knowing me, it's something I do regularly.-

Okay, so there's a bug in my Minecraft that's getting on my nerves. Whenever I eat food, instead of the normal food particles, lava particles come out instead. Is this something that could easily be fixed?

I am aware that I could just turn off the particles, but I quite like them.

Also, I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to talking about the coding and tech that makes as up Minecraft, so I would really appreciate it if you could make it as simple as possible for me.

Are you using any mods? If so, what mods are you using?

What OS (Operating System) are you using? (Windows 7, Windows 8, Mac OS X Lion, etc.)

Are you using the old or new launcher?

Can you post a picture/screenshot of this?

I am using the More Player Models mod, but the particles show up wrong even if I don't have mods enabled.

I use the operating system of OS X Yosemite.

I'm using the new launcher for both modded and vanilla.

I don't see a screenshot, but nevertheless, I'll do my best.

I've never worked with Macs, so excuse me if some steps are slightly inaccurate.

First off, is it ALL food that's like this, or just a specific type of food?

1. Go to the optifine website

2. Download the appropriate version

3. Run the profile called "Optifine"

4. Once Minecraft is loaded, go to Options

5. Go to Video Settings

6. Go to Animations

7. Turn off Lava Animations

8. See if you still eat lava

If this doesn't work, please tell me.

It's all food that does this, it's pretty annoying. Also, sorry about the screenshot. I'll do my best to post it; apparently it's a pretty big file size.

It still doesn't work. But, I do have the screenshot now . . .

Texture error most likely, maybe try wiping your Minecraft files(after backing up anything, of course) and/or updating your graphics drivers.
