It looks like you have a fairly low-end computer, sorry to say. The RAM is 8GB but the speed isn't very great. I have a fairly low-end laptop and the RAM is about 1600mHz. You might want to get better hardware or a better computer in general. Nvidia GTX 460 isn't the best card either, but it should actually be good enough. I'm thinking that it's your CPU and RAM you might want to look at upgrading.

Considering a few months ago it was running fine. I don't understand how Minecraft can get suddenly more demanding? My laptop is crapier than this with an intergrated gpu and it works fine.
My CPU is the best I can run on my mobo. This pc is old but it can play bf4 and those demanding games with no issues. Unless minecraft is more demanding that bf4...

In 1.8, they changed the algorithm that hides chunks the player can't see (this is known as terrain culling), and it seems like the new algorithm they use causes more problems than it fixes. This new algorithm is much more CPU intensive, and is probably the reason why you're facing these problems.
If 1.7.10 works fine for you, but 1.8 is what's acting slow, then I'm more than certain the new culling algorithm is at fault; sadly there isn't any way to disable it or go back to the old version.

Your RAM speed is also 800MHz, but it's DDR (Double Data Rate), therefore you double the number to get the effective speed of 1600MHz.
If you can, and have the resources too, I'd recommend overclocking just a tiny bit. It looks like your FSB speed is 1333, and your multiplier is 2, so I'd strongly recommend only increasing the FSB speed. I'd recommend going no further than 3.2GHz on stock cooler, as that's pushing it. If you have a good cooler, I'd still only recommend 3.2GHz.
And to your problem, like jopoca3 said, it may be due to the update. Try changing back to 1.7 and see if the same is happening.
It works on 1.7 Guess I can't play 1.8 Didn't know Minecraft needs an i5 and a gtx titan black to run..

I have tried overclocking my cpu before and it doesn't like it. Plus if it breaks my pc then i don't have a backup pc to use. Its not worth overclocking my ram either tbh.
I don't know what it is about minecraft... some people run like crap on 1.7 and are better on 1.8, some people it's the other way around. I have an i5 3570k overclocked to 4 ghz, an HD 7850 overclocked about 15%, and 8 gb ddr3 1600 mhz. 1.7 barely pulled 40 frames, but I get upwards of 200 on 1.8...
It could be depend on Java installed I uninstalled it and i am using just the java that minecraft is using in its directory and its fine on 1.7 not 1.8..
Last month or so I have been getting extremly high cpu and ram useage as well as the client it lagging and dropping down to like 5 fps.
I have removed java deleted all minecraft and redownloaded minecraft and installed it. Yet its still lagging and my cpu is going to 100%
PC specs:
CPU - Intel Q9400 2.66Ghz quad core
Ram - 8Gb Dual channel 800Mhz OCZ Platinum at CL4
Graphics card - GTX 460
Please help?
