I'm having trouble updating my launcher from the old one to the new one that doesn't require java.
The problem is when i run the minecraft installer it will say it is downloading runtime and progress up to around 40.30/40.34 MB. It does this three times and then after the third time it will say updating launcher. After a few seconds another window pops up saying it is unable to update game launcher.
How do I update the launcher or get around this problem?
I have tried restarting the computer and reinstalling minecraft completely.
The new launcher has its own version of Java. I think that the problem may be that for some reason, it isn't downloading the required drivers and software for the launcher. Have you tried removing all of the Minecraft files? Looked at your internet's firewalls?
