Hello. Yesterday I started a new singleplayer world and played Minecraft. There were no problems. Everything was perfectly fine and running smoothly. I was enjoying my time walking as far North as I could, exploring various caves and biomes.
The very next morning (I kid you not, no exaggeration) I started up Minecraft and it took TWENTY MINUTES before the actual game started up. The launcher came up just fine. It was the game itself that was slow. As I started playing the game, chunks loaded extremely slowly, mobs were barely moving, FPS was horrendous (though it was better if I stayed still), Minecraft kept not responding and I eventually had to shut it down with task manager, and the simple task of climbing up a hill was torture. I figured it was some of my background programs so I quit Skype, closed google Chrome, the only things I had open were Windows Explorer, Windows Media Player, and Minecraft. CPU usage was still up to 100%, and Minecraft was still unplayable. I have Forge installed, so I played on a different profile, and when that didn't solve the problem, I played on a whole new directory and the problem remained.
So then I figured that Optifine might help me. So I installed it (in a different profile than where I keep my mods in with Forge) and played it. The game took about 5 minutes to start up which is a lot better but still really crappy. The FPS went up by a lot, which is nice I guess, but mobs still weren't moving much and chunks took an absurd time to load. CPU usage was still at 100%. I was having trouble picking different songs in my songs folder (Windows Explorer) because THAT program kept not responding. When I don't have Minecraft open, CPU usage is usually at about 34% and everything runs very smoothly.
Here's some Q & A with the basic information so I don't have to answer all of the same questions over and over again.
Q1: Did you restart your computer and Minecraft? A1: Yes.
Q2: What kind of computer do you have, and what is it like?
A2: I'm going to tell you all of the information I can even if it has nothing to do with my problem because I have no idea what's causing my problem. I can easily navigate around a computer and know the basics, but I don't know everything.
I have an 64 bit HP Pavilion g7 with Windows 7. It has AMD E-450 APU with Radeon HD 6320 and dual core graphics. I've had it for about 3 years. I have 4GB of RAM available with 3.60GB of RAM usable. I keep it in good shape and it's not cluttered with files and apps (I have 294GB of space free out of 447GB), and it's fairly fast when Minecraft isn't open.
Q3: What version of Minecraft do you have, and how does it usually run? A3: I have had Minecraft on my computer for as long as I've had my computer for; 3 years. I have Minecraft version 1.8.7 with Forge, and the other profile I have that has Optifine that I tried was just 1.8.0 (full release of course). I also tried running modded 1.7.10 but that was just as laggy and the CPU usage was at 100%.
Q4: You said you have mods, but this thread is for an unmodified Minecraft client!
A4: Yes, you're right. But it isn't the mods that are causing this problem. I tried running unmodded Minecraft 1.6.4 and it was just as laggy. I also tried running Minecraft 1.8.7 in a new directory and it was still just as laggy. I am running the latest version of Java.
Q5: Did you download anything (perhaps a virus) since you played Minecraft yesterday? A5: Yes. But not a virus. I downloaded 4 or so songs using www.youtube-mp3.org. I use this site regularly, have never had any problems with it, yes, I'm sure it's not a virus, and yes, I'm sure I didn't download anything else since last night. I used this site the day before yesterday too, and didn't have any problems.
I'd appreciate anyone's help. I don't know what to do. I just want to play Minecraft.

Wait, so minecraft ran fine before on your laptop and now it suddenly is running bad? Did I understand that correctly? Make sure you have enough hard drive space left on your computer for minecrafts saves, although realistically you only need around a gigabyte to not have lag issues.
Yes, you understood that correctly. I don't know what happened. No one else uses my computer and the change literally happened overnight. I'm not making this up. I have no idea what happened.

(Ignore this. I tried to delete a post but I'm new to the forums so I don't know how.)
