So I decided to Dual-Boot Ubuntu since I heard about how great and powerful it is and the advantages it had over Windows, and all my apps are supported with Ubuntu. The dual-boot is working just fine and I'm already getting the hang of it. So I went to install Java to play Minecraft, but every time I try to launch Minecraft, the launcher won't launch. It just gives me some text and it just stops and doesn't close out of itself. Here's what it says:

"There are no words to describe the immersive, engaging experience video games can provide so quickly. This has developed communities, so why do so many people say they are harmful? 90% of those criticizers have never played or even tried a video game. Is it not said, 'Don't shoot it 'till you try it'?"
Ubuntu isn't an extremely popular software, so it's hard for us to help you in that respect.
Are you connected to the Internet?
P.S. Ubuntu doesn't have to be the problem. I see a ton of Minecraft Crash error threads on Ask Ubuntu.

Ubuntu has a package updater built in. But install Java from it sucks. It usually crashes and Java problem. Goto Java's Website and download and install from there. That should fix your problem.
I tried doing it with both the .rpm and .tar.gz but the .rpm would try to open up (as it is a type of archive for linux) but it would just fail. The .tar.gz did open (it is another type of archive) and it just had a bunch of files I didn't know what to do with. I'm new to linux, so there could be a possible file I don't recognize as an app/installer.
Picked up JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS: -javaagent:/usr/share/java/jayatanaag.jar

Best to go onto askUbuntu for this.
Ask Ubuntu

How would the people on ask ubuntu know about Minecraft or the error? I don't think Ubuntu is the problem.
Most of us here use Windows or Mac. (Or Linux.)

Update your Java Packages Via Java website.Ubuntu package in update manager does not work currectly
What you just said made no sense.

I don't think that there are any official Oracle Java .deb packages, so you would "need" to manually install it.
However if you are on a Ubuntu based Linux distribution the following PPA adds a auto installer for Oracle Java:
I hope this helps
