Hello everyone! I’m Immaculacy, and I seem to be struggling on a very difficult problem. I have no knowledge whatsoever, and I would like to ask the forums to see if you guys can look into my problem, and figure out a solution!
My problem is that Minecraft just randomly decides to quit. I had a problem with running Essentials 1.8 on my CraftBukkit 1.8.7 server, so I found a video that told me I needed to update my Java to the most recent version in order for Essentials 1.8 to work on my server. After I installed “Java SE 8”, I ran 2 Terminal commands the video told me to run.
Here is the video:
The first code told me to run whatever version of Java I had, which was 1.6 for me. So I typed in:
sudo mv /usr/bin/java /usr/bin/java-1.6
The second line of coding told me to type in this:
After doing that, nothing Java related would work. I typed in “java -version”, and it told me it was an unknown command. I decided to go install the most recent Apple Java build (Java for OS X 2015-001 Beta). Everything went normal after that.
The next day, Minecraft wouldn’t even launch, so I uninstalled & reinstalled it. That did not work at all. I tried deleting everything in my minecraft folder in Application Support, and that didn’t work. I viewed the Console in the Utilities, and checked the crash report, and it had to do something with JavaApplicationStub.
Note: I already tried using chmod on JavaApplicationStub. Also, the Java Control Panel in System Preferences also crashes.
Please! I would appreciate anyone who has very good knowledge of OS X to look into this problem, and help me figure out a solution to this weird problem! I really want to get back on Minecraft! Thanks!
