What installers have you tried? What goes wrong? If Forge works then you don't really need to worry, most mods have a Forge version, Liteloader is handy though.

Please don't PM me asking for help, I will just redirect you to the appropriate forum, where there are others who are far more skilled than me.
I've been stuck at trying to install all of the mod installers...The only one I've got to work is Forge....
Don't use mod installers such as skydaz, it is very easy to install mods. (I usually look to the forum to find mods, or I look at the MCF Mod List)
Forge is what you need for most mods, so if you do have that working then it should be a piece of cake for most others. lets get Mr. Crayfish's Furniture Mod for example. You download whatever goes with what version your minecraft is. I.e. 1.7.10 Forge, get the 1.7.10 mod. Sometimes the latest version of a mod won't match whatever the forge version yours is (i.e. 1.8 Forge, and a 1.7.10 only mod)
Once you have downloaded your version of the mod, place it in \.minecraft\mods\
Voila.
If you can't locate your .minecraft the location for windows is \%appdata%\.minecraft\ or C:\Users\yourname\appdata\roaming\.minecraft\.
Good luck.
EDIT: Mod extentions (if you have them enabled) are usually .zip or .jar. In the case of .zip usually it is the mod, but if you open it and are unsure then read the readme/installation page if you can.
I AM NOT YOUR PERSONAL MINECRAFT MOD SUPPORT AGENT, SO PLEASE DO NOT PM ME ABOUT PROBLEMATIC MODS THAT ARE NOT MINE. If you're having trouble/crashes with a mod, you'll have better luck resolving it in this forum section than PMing me. If you already made a topic, be patient about responses. If you have troubles with anything non-Minecraft related on your PC, I might be able to help, though, but no promises. Even though I could wish to be, I'm not a wizard.
