I have not played Minecraft in ages. I recently came back and found that I no longer make footsteps sounds constantly. Occasionally I hear a sounds like when you walk on wood but it is sporadic and it occurs regardless of where I walk. I tried redownloading the installer and telling it to repair but nothing and I have tried tweaking my sound settings. I just tried reinstalling and it seems that I do have footstep sounds but the grass ones are really really really low for some reason.
First off, re-installing the launcher isn't enough.
Here's what they didn't tell you;
You have to remove the actual Minecraft file from your computer to re-install the game entirely.
Second off, by "tweaking," what do you mean? Are you just using the volume setting on the menu?

"There are no words to describe the immersive, engaging experience video games can provide so quickly. This has developed communities, so why do so many people say they are harmful? 90% of those criticizers have never played or even tried a video game. Is it not said, 'Don't shoot it 'till you try it'?"
