Hello! I'm just wondering if I can stick in a hd 5450 or similar in my computer and improve performance on 1.8.7? And please don't suggest to buy a new pc... I already have a new one and I'm just wondering if I can do a little upgrade on this machine.
A pentium 4 is very old. So I don't recommend upgrading. I would suggest a new PC, but since you already have a new PC I would use the old PC for something small.
Is that hardware related question ( if it will fit or match) or phylosophical one (if you are able to perform such action)?
I can't answer you to the phylosophical part, but on hardware issue, you need to consult manual for your motherboard in your computer to learn what slot it has to plug in graphic cards, and there were several, and also to consult graphic card manual to learn what slot is it supposed to be plugged in. Once you find those informations, pretty much you will already have the answer to your question regarding hardware side of it.

I was just wondering so that I can run minecraft 1.2.5 without the little lag spikes I have every so often, and watch videos on it. Probably an old card or a 5450 and card?
Should be able to run it yes, but you specified "no lag spikes", it is not condition that depends only on CPU and graphic card, but also RAM, Hard Drive, condition and type of your operating system and additional software you may be having on the machine. Remove the "no lag spikes" as an clause in the sentence, and answer is still "Probbably".

Yes I know how to install hardware. And it does have the PCI E x16 1.1.
