A week ago I installed Forge 1.7.2 on my computer and everything was fine. This week I decided to upgrade to 1.8, so I installed a version (I don't remember which one) but it didn't work with Biomes o' Plenty, so I deleted it from the versions file and tried to install the recommended version. It didn't work. It says the installation was complete, but it never shows up in the "versions" folder or in the launcher. Tonight I tried to install different versions of 1.8 and none of them worked, so I tried a couple of different versions of 1.7 and none of those worked either. It says the download was successful, but it never actually shows up. My husband looked at it tonight, he works with computers and scripting, but he isn't very familiar with java and could not figure out what the problem was. We tried to install Forge 1.8 on his computer and it worked just fine. So, I thought I would turn to the forums. We ran it from cmd and I'm attaching what we got from that. I tried restarting my computer, I tried using all of the different download options (jar, windows, etc) and none of them work, we reinstalled java jare7, etc. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Seriously, check what version mods are for before you install them.
Yes, I noticed that. You'll have to forgive me, I was running on low sleep and a massive headache. I forgot to change the name of my mods folder before I tried to run 1.8. Either way, 1.7.2 works, but now I can't get Biomes to work with 1.8. So I'm just going through the different versions.

Biomes O Plenty is kinda broken for 1.8 at the moment.

I tried what this person did: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/support/modded-client-support/2316522-forge-wont-install
and it didn't work
And this is a legitimate version of Minecraft.
EDIT:
Problem is no longer. It was a mixture of me goofing up, the wrong java version, and forge not loving my computer for some reason.
Nope, I didn't know that existed. Thanks!!

Okay, thanks for the update. I finally found a version that works. so hopefully it will not cause too much grief.
And I now see why it's not worth it to play 1.8 Biomes yet. Thanks for your help, thanks for playing. Back to 1.7.2 I go.
