This appears to be an ongoing issue with a number of individuals with no clear solution (as far as I can find). I'm by no means computer illiterate but not technically minded when it comes to the intricacies either.
First a bit of background as this may help diagnose the issues... I have only just re-built my computer, re-formated drives, fresh install of Windows 7, the whole kit-and-caboodle. Prior to this I was launching Agrarian Skies 2 via the Curse launcher without incident. I was very reluctant to loose any of the countless hours I have sunk into this to date, so copied across the entire .../users/My Documents/Curse/Minecraft folder onto a portable drive.
Following the rebuild and the in-numerous hours to have everything re-installed (including 191 windows updates) I am presented with "Unable to download Minecraft. Please try again later." when I try and launch the game installed both via the .msi option and the Curse launcher. The .exe works fine.
I am running Windows 7 x64, have Java 8 45 (both 32 and 64 bit), and even tried disabling my symantec firewall, all with no avail.
My latest attempt included copying the AG2 files noted above into the newly installed Curse file directory. To my surprise this works, at least for the Curse installer, the vanilla installer still packs a sad.
I'm not sure if any of this helps, but thought I would share. If anyone knows the key cause, it would be a huge help.
