This morning I downloaded and played the demo, decided I liked it so I bought the whole game. I tried to play it this afternoon and I can't even get to the title screen.
Most of the time I get a pop up saying "Unable to update the Minecraft Game Launcher." If I get past that part I then get a pop up saying "Unable to start the Minecraft Runtime Environment. This is most likely caused by a corruption. Please try to reinstall Minecraft."
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Minecraft several times. I have tried running the game as an administrator, but neither has helped.
What is wrong and how can I fix it?
*EDIT*
Okay, I may have fixed it. I clicked the Minecraft.exe link under "Minecraft for Windows (alternative)" on the Minecraft website's download page. I finally got to where I can play the game. It occurs to me maybe it was just a bandwidth problem. I'll have to see if the desktop shortcut works tomorrow morning when I'm the only one on in the house.
*EDIT2*
Well it wasn't a bandwidth problem. But using Minecraft.exe seems to be working,
I'm having troubles with the Minecraft Launcher.
