While I'm playing Minecraft with my personal modpack (buildcraft/thermal expansion/mekanism/IC2 experimental/rotarycraft/thaumcraft/MFR, the works,) I get an issue where large portions of my visible display will flicker. I've tried nearly everything I know, including having OptiFine reset video settings to default. I'm usiing a modified Dell XPS 630 I with Windows 8.1, 4 B of RAM, a 500 GB hard drive (~100 GB free), Intel Core 2 Dua (dual core @3.00 GHz), and an Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT. Using any sort of resource pack (even BDcraft sound and music packs only) seems to exasserbate the problem, but disabling all resource packs doesn't stop the problem. This happens less when playing with ther modpacks (FTB infinity, Tekkit, Icehenge) but it still happens.
Fel free to ask for any other info you ma require.
Any ideas would be very much appreciated
I should mention that this doesn't happen on an old Win7 Inspiron that I have lying around, but does happen to a lesser extent with my brother's very high end homebrew PC (windows 10 preview).
Oh, and onother thing I forgot to mention. It tends to be worse in enclosed spaces, such as the little doored off area in the railcraft village house I pretty much never see the walls for the flickering
