So when I am playing minecraft I have noticed that it makes me lag (sometimes more than other) when I spam left and right click. I mostly play PVP so this is a huge problem. I have tried all of the mainstream suggestions including restarting my router, hooking up my laptop to my router, add more RAM and processing to minecraft, and closing all other tabs. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I might be able to do to help this?
It could be your mouse itself. If you think of every mouse click as an event (or like someone throwing a ball into a funnel), then spam-clicking could be causing a backup of these events (or would look like an overflowing funnel). Try restarting your mouse or changing it out for something else (Logitech make very good mice/mouses).
I have a M510 Wireless logitech mouse if that helps. I tried turning the mouse on and off and replacing the batteries dn that helps a little bit, but it isn't full improvement. Also I might want to mention that I had had this mouse for ovewr a month or so before the lag started to kick. I also did some tests and it also lags when I rapid tap my mouse pad.
