so, since they forced my account to be an alex instead of steve, i've been unable to get other players to see my character as anything other than alex, i've tried the three wide skins, i've tried changing it on the minecraft.net site, i've sent support emails to mojang with no results, i've uninstalled/reinstalled minecraft more than 8 times trying to fix the problem. i've tried uploading new skins, using the account profile to change my skin, tried uploading skins to minecraft.net. absolutely NOTHING has fixed the issue. what were they thinking when they forced 50% of their accounts to be female?
i'm out, i love this game, but i'm done with it. it's sily that they'd make this sort of forced change without giving us an option.
Well, originally there WAS an option but I don't know what's wrong with your account, unfortunately. Also, the alex skin was supposed to be gender neutral. Since it's likeness is strangely similar to Jeb, think of it as playing as Jeb.

I never had this problem. My default skin was changed to Alex too, but my custom skin was never affected. Were you only using the default steve skin as your character?
Hahaha your reason for leaving Minecraft seems to be very sexist. So you stop playing one of the best games of all time because your skin is a girl? What is wrong with you? I'm glad you aren't playing anymore due to your hate towards females and "retards".
It could be that you internet connection isn't the best because with me sometimes for like the first two minutes logging in to play minecraft will look like steve but then it fixes itself

Someone please remove this topic, this is support section for minecraft not discussion about sexual prefferencess and/or political correctnes.
Steps to change skin:
1. Go a skin website, such as skindex. So go into google and type Skindex or Minecrafts skins
2 Look for a skin you like and click on it. Click on the skin, no where else.
3. When you click the skin.... Look for UPLOAd to Minecraft. On Skindex it is ON the right. look there
4. Login into your Minecraft profile, land add the skin you want.
