Minecraft freezes on the dirt screem

I'm using ubuntu and when going through a portal, switching servers, or just logging in there is a 50% chance that the game freezes on the dirt screen trapping my mouse with it forcing me to restart or wait 5 minutes. Even then I cant "x" out of minecraft without a command forcing me to restart the game with the launcher.

i don't know how to fix that but i do know that if you need to release your mouse you can press the windows button or Ctrl + Alt + Delete and close minecraft that way. and if you can't find out the problem with the dirt then just backup and reinstall your game, if that dose not work it's something to do with your computer. and i'm no expert with that stuff.

Please submit the full server log. This is a part of it that does not even contain an error.

I suspect you are running out of RAM when attempting to load up a different world.
