Whenever I attempt to download my copy of MineCraft, it will go through the Runtime installer and etc. like normal, but suddenly crash, saying my Minecraft copy is "corrupt", now I know that is not the case as I've reset my copy of MC numerous times, always corrupting, but it's a problem with my computer. I know this might not seem like it is appropriate to be posted here, but it DOES in fact affect my MC copy, and therefore I feel it's appropriate. This problem has plagued this brand-new computer for a few months now, and it's a rather good computer, but I have no idea what the problem is, I've had IT guys come in and not be able to help too much, and I've gone to numerous sites, and I really don't want to feel I've wasted around $1200, when some of that came out of a competition I worked on for most of my school year and there would be no way to ever buy a new computer. Now for extra info pertaining to the issue: OS: Windows 8.1 (I know it has connection problems but I've tried what seems to be every solution to this under the sun, including deleting and re-creating a wifi profile), 64x, Antivirus: McAfee's Stupid Trial thing, I refreshed my computer attempting to fix the problem, but the trial reset.
Also, my browser is extremely slow and sometimes does not want to work at all whatsoever, virtually anything wifi related is a no-go currently. I can ping websites fine however. ipconfig /flushdns does help a little, if only for an hour or so, but if I have to reset it every hour when I tend to be on the computer for around 8 hours a day working on school projects and etc. you can probably see the problem. I also deleted all the data-miners that come pre-installed with non-Windows "Freshened", or whatever it's called, copies. (WildTangent Games, etc.)
Hopefully this is deemed appropriate for this area, I really hope someone with experience can really help me out here, because I am at loss and I honestly am about to have to go back to my crap-top with 2gigs of RAM and a 2.7 GHz Processor.
Try downloading it from a different browser. If that doesn't work, you can try turning off and on your router and modem. If all else fails, try contacting your internet provider and ask them about it, and possibly make an appointment with them.
