I just got back from work today, and I tried logging into a server I use, and I got this error:
"Failed to login: The authentication are currently down for maintenance"
Gave it a while, and it's giving me the same error. My friends are able to log onto the server with no worries. I tried deleting my .minecraft folder and downloading it again, and it didn't work. I tried messing around with my internet to see if it was now blocking Minecraft, I found nothing. Mind you, I was able to play Minecraft just fine last night. If there's anything I can do, or if I'm just stuck with it until it gets resolved on its own, I'd love to know, and any help is appreciated.
UPDATE: Sorry I'm an idiot and didn't provide the specs, info, etc. I'll put them down here:

I just did, and the same thing happened. Also I'd like to add that I've tried downgrading to an older version of 1.8 to see if for some reason that would work, but whenever I do, no matter which one I pick, it gives me this:

Don't know what that means, and couldn't really find much for it on google. Probably is unrelated, but I just wanted to be sure.
I THINK I HAD THE SAME ERROR ON A MODDED GAME JUST DO THIS CREATE A NEW PROFILE AND BOOM WORKING IT WORKED FOR ME
Just did this. When I went to the server menu, the server I tried to log onto (the only one I had saved) never got detected and was pinging continuously; still is now. I tried to log on anyway and it gave me the same error.
EDIT: Still got the error message, but it at least stopped pinging. That's good right? Not really xD
I'm talking about the outdated client part at the top.
Server itself is only 1.8 compatible. I tried 1.8, 1.8.4 and the latest 1.8.7 and all three come up with the same thing. I could try every single individual 1.8 update but I'm pretty certain that is unnecessary.

Only one I see in my programs is McAfee security scan plus.
I don't use it mind you. McAfee is pretty disgusting. I've been meaning to get Malwarebytes but I have yet to.

Plus I didn't know what it met either, but I created a new profile, and it work, I hope this helps.
