I've been running into a problem where, upon running the MC launcher, a box appears talking about downloading the runtime, even though I already had everything I needed in order to run MC. When it finishes, it throws out an error message saying that my MC is corrupted. This keeps happening to me every few days, and has no bearing on whether I reinstall Minecraft and the .minecraft folder or not. Something is wrong, not just with the client, but with the launcher itself.
Using 64-bit java 8 update 45.
It's random whether this supposed runtime update works or not.
