I have always played with opitfine, and it has always improved my frames. However when I updated to 1.8 (yes, I tried it with 1.8, 1.8.1, 1.8.3, and 1.8.4) it causes MAJOR block lag in single player (multiplayer not affected). It pretty much acts as if I had a horrible connection in multiplayer, but it is single player. I have reset all the video settings to the standered and that is not helping. I am now playing on a completely vanilla client and have not problems with FPS or block lag. Is there a way I can get optifine to work? Is anybody else having this issue? My client is completely vanilla other than optifine. I never had this issue in 1.7.
